The newcomer

Angel Cooper wasn't your average cop—at least, not at that time. Undercover in a dangerous criminal organization, she lived on the edge, hiding her true identity while gathering evidence. But the deeper she went, the harder it became to get out.
At the police station, Tim Bradford pretended to maintain his usual rigid demeanor. But inside, his worry was growing. He knew Angel was strong—perhaps as stubborn as he was—but he also knew that infiltrations rarely ended well.
"She should have called by now," he muttered, glancing at his phone for the thousandth time.
Lucy Chen realized.
— You trust her, right?
Tim took a deep breath.
— I trust them. I just don't trust the situation.
Meanwhile, Angel was in an abandoned warehouse, surrounded by the criminals. Her disguise was beginning to crumble. One of the men was staring at her suspiciously.
"You're not who you say you are..." he said, moving closer.
Her heart raced. She discreetly reached for the hidden communicator, but there was no more time.
Suddenly, gunshots rang out from outside.
— LAPD! — Tim's firm voice filled the room.
The team sprang into action: Nolan, Lopez, Harper… all working together. In the midst of the chaos, Tim found Angel trying to break free.
"It took a while," she said, with a half-smile, even under pressure.
"I always arrive," he replied, cutting her ties.
For a second, the world seemed to stop. Eye to eye. The surrounding noise vanished.
"You could have died," Tim said, now more quietly.
