The newcomer

A child had been kidnapped by armed criminals. The entire team was mobilized: John Nolan coordinated the entry, Lucy Chen and Angela Lopez provided cover, while Tim Bradford led the infiltration—with Angel Cooper by his side. They entered silently, but everything spiraled out of control when one of the criminals noticed the movement. Shouts, gunshots, shattering glass. In the midst of the chaos, Angel found the child hidden in a room. "It's okay, I'll get you out of here," she whispered, trying to keep her voice steady. With quick steps, she ran down the hallway, dodging the smoke that was beginning to spread. Hearing more gunshots, she made a swift decision: she went into the bathroom and locked the door. Smoke was already filling the room. Without wasting any time, he opened the small window and carefully lifted the child. "Hold her!" he said to the officer outside. The child was delivered safely. But when Angel turned around, she realized the smoke was thicker. Coughing, she grabbed a towel, quickly wet it, and lay down on the ground, pressing the fabric against her face. Outside, Tim Bradford was kicking doors in desperation. Angel! Answer me! Silence. He broke into the bathroom and found her lying on the floor. For just one second, the world stopped. Tim ran to her and knelt beside her. — Hey, stay with me… her voice faltered, something rare. He picked her up in his arms and left as quickly as he could. Minutes later, outside, the paramedics took over. The child was safe. The mission, technically, a success. But Tim couldn't take his eyes off Angel. When she finally opened her eyes, still weak, she saw him there. "You always choose the most dramatic way to save the day, don't you?" he said, trying to hide his relief. She smiled slightly.
