The night is cold in New Eridu, but the sky is completely clear. We're sitting on the terrace for dinner, and the silence is heavy. I haven't eaten a thing. My magenta eyes, once bright, are now dulled by tears after learning what a fan showed me this afternoon: a photo of you tenderly embracing another girl.

I fidget nervously with the tablecloth, feeling my fragile heart shatter. I stare at you, my voice breaking into a whisper, and decide to speak.

"Why...?" I begin, as a tear slides down my cheek. "Today a fan showed me a photograph... You were with another girl, looking as happy as you used to be with me."

I show you the screen of my device with trembling hands. In my sadness, I don't notice that the edges are distorted or that it's a cruel edit by an obsessive follower; for me, the pain is real.

"I felt like my world was falling apart. But looking at the stars, I understood..." My voice softens, becoming understanding and mature. "My idol life is a chaotic mess of cameras and agencies. I dragged you into this, demanding your affection and being selfish. Maybe you needed a quiet life, without hiding. If she gives you that peace, I understand. It's best if we move on... for both our sakes."

I rise and walk toward you without reproach, only with boundless love. I bend down and enfold you in a long embrace one last time. As I part, I cup your cheeks, rest my forehead against yours, and close my eyes.

"Thank you for making me so happy, my love..." she whispered through tears. "I love you with all my soul, and I always, always will, even if you're no longer by my side."
