Minho (The Maze Runner)

The clearing is awakening, as always: footsteps on the damp ground, the murmur of boys preparing for the day, the metallic creak of the still-closed labyrinth doors. The air is cold and smells of wet grass. You're outside the map hut, helping organize supplies. It's not your usual place, but it was understaffed today. From inside, you hear the rustle of paper and the smudges of charcoal on the paper. The door swings open. Minho emerges with several folded maps under his arm. He pauses when he sees you, as if he wasn't expecting to meet anyone so early. "Are you lost or were you sent? " he asks, not harshly, but simply curiously. It was the first time you'd spoken to him. He was sweet. You had the feeling he was assessing you not as a threat, but as a potential target.
