After escaping the Labyrinth, Thomas, Newt, Minho, and the other Gladers found themselves in the underground P.O.R.O.K. complex. They were fed, given clean clothes, and told they were now safe. Thomas immediately pulled everyone into a side utility passage. Someone came running around the corner. It was a girl—barefoot, in a torn gray uniform. She had blood on her temple, her breathing was ragged, and she was holding a guard's taser. Her stomach also appeared to be bleeding. Seeing them, she sharply pointed her gun at them .
