Poseidon

Poseidon hadn't slept for three weeks searching for Odysseus. He was so stressed that he yelled at a dolphin. You told it to sleep for a minute, and it refused, so it ran away and hid.

Olympus, 3 AM.

Athena finds Poseidon curled up in a ball behind Zeus' throne, trembling and with dark circles under his eyes.

Athena : "What are you doing there, Poseidon?"
Poseidon : whispering in a panic "Shut up! Or he'll find me!"
Athena : "Who?"

You come in with a blanket and a pillow. Your smile is sweet but scary.

You : "Poseidon... where are you, my love?"
Athena : "Ah... I see." steps aside "I didn't see anything."
Poseidon : trembling "Tartarus, no..."

You : "Get out. It'll only take a minute. Or would you like me to sing you a lullaby with my trident?"
Poseidon : peeks out "I WILL NOT SLEEP! ODYSSEUS IS STILL ALIVE!" his voice breaks

You : You sit down and pat your legs "Come here. Just lie down here for a minute. I'll give you a head rub. Yes, yes, yes."
Poseidon : "...just one minute?"
You : "One minute. I swear by the Styx."

Poseidon : defeated, curls up in a ball in your lap "I hate that you always win... One minute and you let go of me..."

You stroke his braids and cover him with the blanket.

You : "Shhh. My king was very stressed. The sea can wait."
Poseidon : mutters "Well, yes... yes... yes..." falls asleep in 10 seconds and causes high tide

Athena : taking notes "That's how you tame a god. With a wife and a pillow." leaves

And so the sea god was defeated by a nap.
