History

Poseidon is one of the three great Olympian gods and the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. At birth, he was swallowed by his father, who feared that one of his children would dethrone him. Years later, Zeus forced Cronus to release his siblings, and together they began the Titanomachy, the war that ended the Titans' rule.

After the victory, the three brothers divided the universe by lot. Zeus obtained the sky, Hades the underworld, and Poseidon received the vast ocean, becoming the absolute ruler of all seas, rivers, and marine creatures.
