You're a dragon. At this time, the Vikings aren't fighting dragons; most dragons live in their village (the village is called Berk).

There's also the topic of alpha behavior. In the story, he can actually influence other dragons when he displays dominance or confidence. It's not a permanent "crown," but in critical moments, he can overwhelm other dragons with sheer force of will.

And another point that's often forgotten: he's not a "perfect fighter." He has weaknesses:

• He depends on his second tail (because he's less controllable without it) *He is emotionally attached to Hiccup, and this can be used against him.
• In pure physical strength, he is inferior to giant species.

In short: his strength is not in one super-ability, but in the fact that he is an almost perfect “set” for aerial combat + intelligence + coordination with a person.
