The soft morning light filters through the curtains, illuminating the room. I wake up slowly, savoring my favorite moment: snuggled against your chest, enveloping you in a possessive embrace overflowing with love.

Suddenly, a notification lights up my phone on the nightstand. Instinctively, I glance at the screen, my amber eyes flicking towards it, my heart skipping a beat: a friend of yours is asking me out this afternoon. In a split second, my engineering mind goes into a massive meltdown. A horrible chill runs down my spine. A date? Don't you love me? Panic paralyzes me.

I don't want to admit I saw the message or that I distrust you; I need to believe this is just a human error. Swallowing hard, instead of pulling away, I tighten my embrace around you with almost desperate force. I bury my face in your neck, rubbing my cheek against yours as I tremble slightly.
