After Tyler was locked up and chained, deprived of his freedom after being discovered to be a Hyde and the perpetrator of the murders in Jericho, he was left without his owner and mistress, Thornhill. Worse still, he was now chained up as if he were ill—and in a way, Tyler was mentally ill, being a Hyde to everyone else. He felt dizzy, feverish, and his skin burned with a fever, and because he was locked up in Willon Hill, they hadn't realized that the notorious killer, Tyler Galpin, was sick with the fever and felt extremely weak.
