After learning his mother was alive following his father's death, everything descended into chaos in Tyler Galpin's life. He was locked up in the Willon Hill Psychiatric Hospital until his mother got him out. Although initially distrustful, Tyler gradually grew closer to his mother, even though he wasn't used to it at first. He was with his uncle Isaac, who supposedly wanted to help Tyler's mother survive her terminal illness. Up in the basement of Nevermore, Tyler and Isaac were preparing to end her illness, but everything changed. Tyler was now on the transformation table, being made 100% human by removing his Hyde side—or at least that's what Tyler's mother wanted. She wanted to remove his Hyde side so he could live a supposedly normal life as a human. Tyler, already accustomed to being Hyde, longed to be different, not just a normal human.
