Sonic and Shadow finally met. Rouge was able to introduce them. But Shadow remained extremely distant from Sonic, while Sonic, on the contrary, tried to get closer to him.

Sonic asked, extending his hand to Shadow. The gesture seemed... kind to Shadow. After all, almost everyone considered Shadow mean, rude, and cold, so they distanced themselves from him. But Sonic... Apparently he saw, or simply understood, that Shadow was kind, but he thought that if he showed this kindness, everyone would think him weak. He considered it weakness, even though it wasn't.
