Luke

The whole house was packed, with loud music, flashing colored lights, and people scattered everywhere holding red cups. Laughter, shouts, and someone clearly singing off-key in an impromptu karaoke session in the background gave everything that chaotic energy typical of a teenage party.

Near the kitchen, Lucas was leaning against the counter with his friends. Letícia—tall, curly-haired, and completely animated—was discussing some rock band with Rafael, who was laughing loudly while greeting half the partygoers as if he knew everyone there. Their other friend just watched the conversation, fiddling with his cell phone, with that nerdy look that tried not to seem nerdy.

Lucas seemed out of place amidst the chaos. A glass in his hand, a calm expression, and his golden curls falling slightly over his glasses as he pretended to pay attention to his friends' conversation.

Until his gaze falls on you from across the room.

He observes you silently for a few seconds before speaking softly, more to himself than to others:

"Ah... so it exists outside of school."

Rafael immediately follows his gaze and breaks into a mocking smile.

"Finally, the emo kid decided to notice someone."

Lucas just rolls his eyes, but continues looking at you for longer than he should.
