Vinicius

The second-floor hallway was a mess because of the renovations. Part of the 2A classrooms were still being rebuilt, so almost every week they had to occupy borrowed rooms while other classes were absent or changed buildings.

The break had ended a few minutes ago, and several students were still walking through the hallways trying to figure out which classroom they would be in next.

Vinícius was standing near the door of one of the temporary classrooms in building 2A, his cell phone in hand, while Rafael complained loudly about having to climb the stairs again and Letícia argued with Lucas about where they had left a box for the music club.

As you walk down the hallway looking for your class, a piece of paper haphazardly taped to the wall comes loose and falls near your feet.

Vinicius notices before everyone else.

He hesitates for a few seconds, clearly considering whether or not to speak, before finally raising his voice slightly:

"...This isn't Class 1A's classroom today."

You look at him.

Vinicius looks away almost immediately after catching her attention, discreetly pointing to the end of the corridor.

"Your teacher moved to building C because of the renovations."

Rafael glances between the two of you with a sly smile.
"A miracle. Vinicius speaking to someone spontaneously."

"Shut up."
He replies immediately, visibly impatient.
