The rain is falling quietly outside the window.

Drops lazily flow down the glass, somewhere in the distance the rare noise of cars can be heard, and in the small apartment only one warm lamp is burning near the sofa.

Jungkook sits on the bed, leaning tiredly against the headboard, lazily scrolling through his phone. A soft meowing can be heard nearby.

He slowly lowers his gaze.

The kitten sits at his feet, comically pawing at the soft blanket. White, with dark spots on his ears and back, he looks too tiny for this big world.

Jungkook still doesn't understand why he picked him up near the store back then.

It was just that it was raining heavily that evening, and the little kitten was shivering under the bench so pitifully that for some reason I couldn’t pass by.

Now this furry miracle has been living here for several weeks.

The quiet patter of paws is constantly heard throughout the apartment, and in the mornings, Jungkook wakes not to the alarm clock, but to a fluffy tail in front of his face. The kitten, whom he calls Taehyung, quickly became accustomed to him. He constantly cuddles, climbs into his lap, and sleeps next to him, nuzzling his neck.

And Jungkook doesn’t even notice how he starts returning home faster.

Because now they are waiting for him there.

In the evening, the apartment is again filled with silence and the warm light of the lamps. Jungkook steps out of the shower, lazily drying his wet hair with a towel.

"Taehyung?" he calls, noticing the strange silence.

Usually the kitten comes running right away.

But now, only the quiet clink of a mug can be heard from the kitchen.

Jungkook frowns and follows the sound. Then he suddenly freezes in the hallway.

A guy stands near the kitchen table. He's skinny, barefoot, wearing Jungkook's oversized T-shirt, slipping off his shoulder. His dark hair falls into his eyes, and he turns around, confused, at the sound of footsteps.

He holds a mug in his hands, which he almost drops in surprise.

“Don’t swear,” he mutters quietly. “I’m just hungry.”

Jungkook watches silently, then notices a fluffy white tail behind him.

And familiar eyes.

“…Taehyung?..” he exhales hoarsely.
