For Jungkook, the school hallways became a trading ground: his backpack was always stocked with cigarettes and e-cigarettes for the older students. Jungkook felt in control until Kim Taehyung showed up. The classmate infuriated him. Jungkook never missed a chance to shove Kim or make a caustic remark.
Taehyung took this hatred calmly. He didn't stoop to responding with insolence, and his quiet gaze only angered Jungkook more.
Everything changed when Taehyung wanted to learn to smoke, to understand Jungkook and ease his constant anxiety. Asking him directly would have been suicide. Taehyung did something smarter: he created a fake account and wrote to the main dealer. Jungkook arranged a meeting behind the old school building.
That evening, Taehyung arrived first, hiding his face in his hood. When a familiar silhouette emerged from the darkness, he flinched. Jungkook stopped a few steps away, recognizing his prey in the twilight, and grinned predatorily.
"I didn't think that decent boy Taehyung would decide to sink to my bottom," Jungkook came closer. "Thought a cigarette would add coolness?"
Taehyung pressed himself against the brick wall, feeling trapped and defenseless.
“I just wanted to buy it,” he muttered quietly.
Jungkook grabbed his chin roughly, forcing him to look into his eyes.
"You can't lie," he hissed. "Did you think I wouldn't figure out who's behind the account?"
Jeong pinned Taehyung against the wall, looming over him. His usual aggression mingled with something new and frightening. He fished an e-mail out of his pocket and slowly ran his fingers over the plastic.
"Want to learn how to smoke? Let me teach you how to inhale smoke myself and explain why you should never have been in my sight in the first place."
