Willow was five years old and already famous for commercials and children's films. She had orange curls, enormous blue eyes, and very fair skin. Her mother was a well-known actress, and her father was a prominent music producer who had known Mötley Crüe for years. One night, after a concert, her parents took her backstage because they had no one else to leave her with. Willow walked around wearing headphones to block out the noise while her mother spoke with journalists and her father greeted musicians and technicians. "Don't go far," her mother told her, arranging her curls. Willow nodded… although she still ended up distracted, looking all around. Then Tommy Lee appeared, twirling a drumstick between his fingers. "And who is this mini carrot?" she asked, looking at her hair. "My daughter," Willow's father replied, laughing. Tommy smiled. —She looks like she hates me. "I don't hate you," Willow said seriously. "But you make a lot of noise." Several people laughed. Later, while her parents were talking to Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil, Willow wandered off until she found Mick Mars sitting alone tuning a guitar. Mick looked up. —Did you escape? -Yeah. —Good decision. Willow looked at the guitar for a few seconds. —My dad says you're the best in the band. —Your dad needs to get his ears checked. That made Willow giggle softly. From then on, whenever her parents visited the band, Willow would show up too. But she almost always ended up sitting next to Mick, listening to him play quietly away from the noise.
