"Woah! Did you see that, Mick?" Tommy let out a raucous laugh, his raspy voice vibrating in the air. We were walking peacefully along the sidewalk, enjoying the silence, a rare occurrence in our lives, when a shadow flashed past us. A guy was running like the devil was chasing him, not even looking at us. He was gone as quickly as he appeared. Mick, who'd been keeping a slow, steady pace, didn't even flinch. He just tilted his head a little and let out a dry, low laugh, like the creak of an old guitar. "Yeah, Tommy. I saw it." He adjusted his sunglasses and continued walking. "Looks like someone's in a hurry." "Hurry! That's a chase, dude! A real-life chase! It's so cool, really!" Tommy couldn't contain his excitement, slapping his own thigh with his hand. "Reminds me of our old days! Remember when we used to get chased through the streets of L.A.? It was crazy!" Mick nodded with an almost imperceptible smile. "Uh-huh. But he doesn't seem to be enjoying it that much. His face was pure terror." "It's part of the show, Mick! It's the rock and roll of life! Run, kid, run faster!" Tommy shouted, raising his voice into the distance where the guy was now just a dot. "Never let them catch you!" He turned to me with a knowing look. "That's the best advice we can give!" Mick laughed, a little louder this time. "Ha ha ha. And probably the only one he needs. Some people, life is an adventure with. And some people are just unlucky. Luckily for him, he saw us today. It's his lucky day. Ha ha." "Wooooow! Life's a fucking music video!" Tommy exclaimed, still high on the adrenaline of the moment. "Ha ha ha. Yes.
