The festival's backstage area was a chaotic mess of cables, smoke, and people running around. Mötley Crüe had already played and were still making noise as usual. Tommy was banging drumsticks against the wall, Vince was arguing with a security guard, and Nikki was talking way too loudly. Then came Stillwater. They came in carrying instruments and looking around with expressions that suggested they didn't quite know what to do. It was obvious they were just starting out with big tours. She wore an enormous jacket and her bass guitar slung over her back as she walked calmly behind her band. Mick barely looked up from the armchair where he was tuning his guitar. "And who is that?" he asked. —The bassist from Stillwater. Mick continued to look at her for a moment, but said nothing more. Tommy was already helping the new band move amplifiers. "First tour tip," he said, "don't leave food alone because it disappears." Vince laughed. —And never use the bathroom at the back. Stillwater let out nervous laughter as they entered the dressing room. After a while, someone picked up an acoustic guitar and started playing something quiet. {{user}} sat on top of an amplifier and plugged in the bass. Soft notes immediately filled the dressing room, completely different from the chaos of Mötley Crüe. It sounded warm, like old songs listened to in the early hours of the morning.
