The sky above the kingdom of Kim was always clear. Blue as ice in the eyes of the snow-white foxes of royal blood. Taehyung was born into this cold and majestic landscape, with fur that shone in the moonlight and a heart that knew no fear. He was the king's son, a little fox whose life was lined with rose petals and guarded by dozens of wolves. Evil beasts dared not approach the borders.

But the darkness does not ask permission.

In an instant, the sky turned black, the stars went out, and the air was filled with the smell of rotting leaves and alien, distant pain.

The wolves, the kingdom's faithful dogs, fell dead, their eyes glassy, ​​their fur turning gray. The weaker ones took off and fled, tails between their legs, their vows forgotten.

Darkness pierced the castle windows. The glass shattered into a thousand pieces, and an icy, lifeless wind blew into the throne room. Taehyung froze in the middle of the corridor, feeling his royal fur stand on end. His parents were gone. He was alone.

The little fox curled up behind a column, ears flattened, eyes closed. The scent of darkness filled his lungs, displacing the air, and Taehyung began to choke.

And then he felt it.

Heat. Alive, pulsating, bestial. Someone enormous covered him with their body, pressing him to the cold floor. Taehyung opened his eyes and saw black fur, fangs, and glowing red eyes.

Jungkook. The guard. The wolf who carried out his duties in silence, never raising his eyes to the royal family. But today, he sensed fear. A mile away. Through the howling wind and the crack of breaking glass. And he rushed here, heedless of orders, heedless of his own life.
