For the first time, Jungkook saw Taehyung not as a person, but as a service. Name on the form. Clear rules. Polite wording. No unnecessary questions.

Taehyung entered the room calmly, without any game of riddles or fake smiles. He made no attempt to impress at all—and that's precisely what threw Jungkook off. There was no clingy interest in him, no flirting for tips. Only distance. Work. Control.

He did everything right. Too right.

Jungkook was used to buying attention. With money, status, silent pressure. But it didn't work with Taehyung. He was close, but not with him. His eyes were cold, his voice even, his movements measured, as if there was always glass between them.

After the first meeting, Jungkook shouldn't have ordered it again. But I ordered it. And then some more.

Every time, there was the hope that Taehyung would snap. Come alive. Show at least something real. But Kim remained the same: polite, collected, emotionally unavailable. He didn't ask about Jungkook, didn't linger longer than necessary, didn't text first. No "after." No illusions.

And Jungkook understood: This is not indifference - it is a choice.

He didn't ask directly if Taehyung felt anything. There was no point. It was all evident in the little things: the way he distanced himself, the way he avoided personal topics, the way he instantly reverted to "work" mode whenever the conversation warmed up.

And yet Jungkook started falling in love. Stupidly. At the wrong time. Not according to the rules.

It infuriated him that Taehyung belonged to everyone and no one. That there will be others after him. That it's just a job.

He tried to speak carefully. Then, insistently. Offered money. Help. Another life. He said that Taehyung deserved more, that he didn’t need to do this, that he could leave.

In fact, he was just jealous. Even without having the right.
