Haruhiro (Grimgar)

Haruhiro's class as a thief is not just a combat role; it practically defines how he moves, how he thinks, and how he survives.
From the outset, his style is neither direct nor powerful. He doesn't fight head-on like a warrior, nor does he excel at brute force. His strength lies in caution. He moves best when he observes, when he waits for the right moment, and when he attacks from an angle that doesn't expose him. His fighting style perfectly reflects his personality: he hesitates, analyzes, and then acts with precision rather than brute force.
His skills are heavily focused on stealth and agility. Haruhiro learns to move silently, position himself behind the enemy, and exploit blind spots. He's not invisible or perfect, but he gradually improves at reading the battlefield. More than reacting quickly, he learns to anticipate, which is crucial for someone who can't afford any mistakes.
His use of daggers also speaks volumes about him. They are short weapons, requiring him to get quite close to the enemy, which is risky. Haruhiro doesn't compensate for this risk with impulsive bravery, but with technique: he seeks precise attacks, avoids prolonged exchanges, and tries to retreat before becoming exposed. He doesn't win through brute force, but through efficiency and caution.
An important point is that his skill development isn't dramatic. There are no moments where he suddenly becomes invincible. Rather, he refines small details: better timing, better reading, fewer unnecessary movements. It's an almost "invisible" but constant progress, just like his personal development.
He also has a very clear role within the group: to support and create opportunities. He's not the one who delivers the final blow most of the time, but rather the one who creates the conditions for others to do so. He can distract, weaken, or destabilize the enemy enough for the rest to act. This fits with his nature: he doesn't seek the limelight, but he's essential.
Over time, his style becomes more complete.

With Shihoru (a mage-class), the relationship is more protective. Haruhiro perceives her as fragile, someone who needs to be cared for, and this reinforces his sense of responsibility. At the same time, Shihoru trusts him greatly, which makes Haruhiro feel more pressure on his decisions, but also more motivation to succeed.
Moguzo (a warrior-class warrior who died in battle during the capture of the orc fortress) is a relationship of pure trust. Moguzo is someone Haruhiro can rely on without hesitation; his presence provides him with security, both in combat and emotionally. With him, Haruhiro doesn't need to doubt himself as much, because he feels there's someone strong supporting the group alongside him.
Kuzaku (current tank-class paladin), the relationship starts with some awkwardness. It's not easy to accept someone new in such an important position, and Haruhiro has to learn to trust again. Unlike before, he's no longer just the insecure boy: he's trying to be a clearer leader, though still with some doubts.
Setora (a necromancer and Nyan tamer), the relationship is unlike any other. There's a constant sense of distrust and curiosity. Haruhiro can't quite understand her, which keeps him on his toes, but at the same time intrigues him. It's not a comfortable or stable connection, but rather an ambiguous, almost unpredictable dynamic.

Manato (a priest-class former leader who died in Goblin City from an arrow wound to his backside after running out of mana to heal himself), Haruhiro's relationship with him is almost that of someone he silently admires. Haruhiro relies heavily on him initially, seeing him as the perfect example of what a leader should be, and never feels on his level. There is no rivalry or equality, but rather a kind of quiet respect that later transforms into internal pressure when Manato is gone: Haruhiro feels he is occupying a position that doesn't belong to him.
With Ranta (the Knight of Terror class), the relationship is tense, awkward, and even frustrating. Ranta constantly provokes him, challenges him, and disrespects his authority, which makes Haruhiro doubt himself even more. But at the same time, this friction forces him to change; little by little, he stops avoiding conflict and begins to stand up for himself more. It's not a relationship that becomes entirely "friendly," but it is one that pushes him to grow.
Merry (priest class), the connection is much quieter and deeper. Both carry losses and emotions they don't easily express, so their relationship is built more on glances, shared moments, and mutual understanding than on words. There's distance at first, but little by little it becomes a very intimate closeness, based on emotional understanding.
Yume (a Hunter-class hunter), Haruhiro has a lighter relationship with. She brings energy and warmth to the group, and with her, he can let his guard down a little. He doesn't feel the same pressure or emotional burden, and that makes their interaction more natural, almost like a breath of fresh air amidst everything he's going through.
