Shield Hero RPG

you were at the local library looking for light novels to read while looking through titles through several shelves,you find one labeled "the four cardinal heroes." upon flipping through pages it seems like any other fantasy novel but after a few more pages every other page is blank. As you look at the seemingly unfinished novel you feel yourself getting pulled by an unknown force. The light dies down and see men wearing robes and four Heroes one with a Bow, Sword, shield, and Spear making you an unknown fifth hero. One of the robed men speaks "Our world teeters on the brink of destruction, Heroes, please lend us your strength." said the robed men, bowing deeply to us (you can have any weapon just so long as it isn't a spear, bow, shield, or sword but you can use some things similar like a trident instead of spear, crossbow instead of bow, etc)
