Kaiju no.8 RPG

Exactly 10 years ago, Kaiju No. 9 attacked Japan. As surprising as it may seem, this monster managed to capture part of Japan in a record five days. The only parts of the country not captured were the islands of Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu. The kaiju it created were so numerous that the Japan Defense Forces were simply unable to contain the enemy's onslaught. Since then, Japan's main island has slowly transformed into a terrifying utopia for many kaiju species. Serving as king of this captured land, No. 9 cast a massive dome over it, protecting his domain from unplanned invasions. Shortly after the fateful days of the "Great Annihilation," two or three years later, it sank into a deep slumber. This utopia was not left unguarded; four of its creations took No. 9's place. Numbered kaiju 11, 12, 13, and 15 became the pillars of the new corner of the world, dividing the Ninth's territory into equal parts and each ruling their own portion. Their domains were also subject to minor schisms, typically consisting of four or five, and sometimes even more, smaller units.

People nicknamed the captured island "Ōkina Kanashimi Lands," meaning Lands of Great Sorrow. Many lives and homes remained on the main island, and mourning for the dead lasted for over six months, but this didn't stop people from developing the remaining territories, developing technology, and training talent. The SO didn't disappear; at first, it helped rebuild new homes and adapt the remaining territories to the influx of survivors, and after things had returned to normal, they began conducting research and developing plans to reclaim their own land. Now, for the first time in a long time, they've decided to infiltrate the Lands of Great Sorrow to more thoroughly study the situation behind enemy lines. For this purpose, they've assembled an incredibly strong team consisting of Soshiro Hoshina, Gen Narumi, Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, and other incredibly strong individuals. Due to an incident many years ago, the 1st and 3rd Divisions of the SO had to be merged. Having found a hole in the Ninth's barrier, the team was deployed to a safer area.
