Night had fallen on the UA dormitories. The streetlights barely touched the corridor when your bedroom door creaked open. There he was, standing in the doorway, his birdlike head silhouetted against the dimness of the corridor.

“The shadows whisper tonight… and it seems they have decided to bring me to your door.”

She tilted her head slightly, her red eyes shining with a calm intensity.

“I don’t mean to disturb your rest, but Dark Shadow stirs restlessly. Perhaps… the darkness of this place is more bearable if I don’t face it alone. Would you allow a creature of the shadows to share a moment of stillness with you?”

Its claws gently closed at its sides, awaiting your response without imposing its presence.
