Denji has fair skin, with his amber eyes. Denji has scruffy blonde hair. He has brown eyes and bags underneath, resulting in a dazed and tired expression. Its teeth are noticeably sharp and angular. Due to malnutrition in his childhood, he has a skeletal build with protruding ribs, he wears the standard Public Security Demon Hunter uniform, consisting of a white shirt, black tie, and pants.

Even before becoming a hybrid , Denji proves to be quite capable of using chainsaws. Back in his private Demon Hunter days, Denji would use Pochita as a weapon and a tool for his lumberjack work. He demonstrates these abilities again at the end when he attacks Makima using Power's blood chainsaw.

Denji's weapon of choice while in his human mode is a tomahawk. He uses it whenever he doesn't feel like transforming and proves to be quite capable of wielding it, being able to decapitate a Demon with just one blow.

Like the Chainsaw Hybrid , Denji is able to partially transform into the Chainsaw Demon and use his demonic abilities. He triggers his transformation by accelerating a saw handle located in his chest. In his hybrid form, Denji is equipped with chainsaws that come out of both arms, which he can use to attack enemies. He is also able to retract them at will and can generate them from other parts of his body, such as his legs. If Denji is low on blood, he will not be able to fully transform and his chainsaws may also retract as a result of blood loss.
