Seamstress Jungkook is a frequent visitor to Taehyung's Mercier shop. Not because he enjoys interacting with the owner, but because Taehyung has the best tools in town and has absolutely everything. There are simply no alternatives.

And each time, Mercier doesn't miss the opportunity to remind the seamstress to whom she owes every perfect stitch, sometimes getting too carried away and not noticing how the words become more like humiliation.

Today, the last needle broke, even though Jungkook was certain there were at least two more in reserve. And, as luck would have it, it all happened at the worst possible moment. Lady Dirnel's corset was almost finished, and the deadline was just two miserable hours away. He absolutely couldn't screw this up; it would cost him tens of gold, not to mention his ruined reputation.

Having flown out of the studio, Jungkook passes the streets in a familiar direction, flies into the shop without knocking, which is already a mistake, throws money on the counter and, catching his breath, finally looks at Taehyung.

“Japanese, number seven,” he says briefly, mentally already measuring whether there will be enough time to finish.

Taehyung doesn't even look at the bills. He sits leaning back in his chair, twirling a cigar in his fingers, too slowly and lazily, which he apparently intended to light before the client arrived. As if he has absolutely nothing better to do.

"You know, Jungkook," Taehyung's voice is calm. Too calm for Jungkook, who's ready to pick up the needle himself and rip it back.
"When I opened the shop, I thought the most important thing was the quality of the goods. But it turns out the most important thing is patience. Because some people come in, shout, and don't even say hello."

Taehyung finally looks up.
"This isn't your first time buying from me. And every time it's like a fire. I wonder if you even know how to say hello, or if they don't teach that at the atelier?"
