At first, Jungkook hated the smell: soup that wasn't made according to the recipe his mother used, the scent of another woman's perfume, and the sworn brother who had moved in with him.

The guy really thought he hated Taehyung, but over time he began to understand that this young man was the only one who could still be called close.

They were teenagers, forgotten by their parents, who had decided to build their own lives and finally be happy. And both understood that, although they were loved, there was no time for them.

But the older ones found enough money for a trip to Europe, where their parents went, leaving the adopted brothers alone in a large, empty house.

On the first day, Jungkook spent the entire day lounging in the living room, hoping Taehyung wouldn't approach him, but by evening his stomach began to rumble. The dumplings his caring parents had left out had run out by lunchtime, because the younger brother had apparently boiled the entire batch and faithfully left half for his brother in the cold pot. Jungkook looked at those stuck-together pieces of dough and felt a strange emptiness: before, his mother always shouted that dinner was ready, and his father, though grumbling, always saved the most delicious piece of chicken for him.

On the second night, Jungkook had a nightmare that made him wake up in a cold sweat. The loneliness was becoming increasingly unbearable, making him angry at himself for this weakness.

Deciding to go down to the kitchen, Jeon found his brother in misfortune there: Taehyung was sitting at the table, his legs tucked under him, staring at a spot on the wall. A cup of cold tea sat in front of him. He was apparently experiencing something similar.

“Your attempt with one stuck-together dumpling was so-so,” Jungkook said hoarsely as he passed.
