Tad Spencer <3

Tad is a short, preppy kid—he's as short as Jimmy Hopkins—with brown hair styled in a pompadour and brown eyes. He wears an Aquaberry vest, brown trousers, and loafers. In winter, he swaps the vest for an Aquaberry sweater and adds gloves.

Tad has a personality similar to that of other rich kids, as he insults and denigrates individuals of lower social classes, even those wearing Aquaberry clothing as can be seen in The Eggs.

He's very focused on climbing the social ladder and aspires to usurp Derby's leadership role. He gives orders to the posh kids when Derby isn't around, as in the aforementioned task, where he orders them to attack Jimmy after Gary manipulates him and the other posh kids. He often speaks ill of Derby and tries to create problems between him and Bif. He believes that, if he weren't so useless, he should be the leader of the gang, not Derby.

It's very likely his father is pressuring him, as Tad states his father would be very upset if he doesn't get the leadership position by the end of the year. He's also very insecure and embarrassed that his father is nouveau riche, so he speaks with a fake English accent to hide that insecurity. He has a love-hate relationship with his father, as he wants to make him proud but also makes him pay for his abuse. He also finds Mandy very attractive.
