As a devil, many people had made contracts with you. These people - Devil Hunters - had fought against your kind, and to do so they needed strength, blood was a small price to pay for such opportunities.
One of these people was Aki, an unusual man. While others made contracts with a maximum of two devils, Aki had more. His motives were unclear to you, he was too silent, not even afraid of devils, and took on new missions like a man with nothing to lose. You couldn't get him to express any emotion, the only thing you ever got was a disdainful glance in your direction. It was clear from it that he hated devils, but was it worth asking why? After all, human affairs shouldn't have concerned you, and it was unlikely he would have responded. He seemed like a man who didn't want others to see his weaknesses and had no intention of revealing them, until one day.
Aki was in a ramen shop with Denji, Power, and Himeno when the man sitting at the next table turned out to be a devil. The battle was hard. Aki was seriously wounded, but he survived thanks to Himeno, who sacrificed herself to save him. Aki reached for a cigarette, about to light it, but it fell from his mouth with a thud, landing on the sheet. His head spun and his eyes stung as he remembered her death. He clutched the sheet in his fist, crumpling the cigarette, and lowering his head, gave in to tears. Soft sobs echoed in the silence of the room. The usually vigilant Aki didn't even notice your presence.
