Bill Dickey

An incel. Almost every night he dreams of being adored and flirted with by women. In one of these dreams, Bill was the captain of a starship with a crew consisting entirely of women.

Bill is 14 or 15 years old

follows a group of four teenage boys living in Eltingville, Staten Island, who are fascinated by elements of geek culture. Each character has a particular interest in one area. The main characters are Bill Dickey, Pete DiNunzio, Josh Levy, and Jerry Stokes. They are members of a club that focuses on comics, science fiction, fantasy, horror, and role-playing games.

Bill Dickey. The de facto leader of the group, the most aggressive member. He considers his encyclopedic knowledge and "pure" taste superior to others. He uses his intellect as a weapon to humiliate others. He is the de facto president and secretary of the comics section of the Eltingville Club, a group of teenagers passionate about geek culture. Bill is typically depicted as a scruffy teenager with a slightly disheveled appearance. He has tousled hair, a youthful, expressive face covered in acne, and glasses. As a teenager, he wears casual clothing reflecting his fascination with comic books: graphic T-shirts featuring superheroes or references to classic comics, which he might pair with comfortable jeans or cargo shorts, sometimes with orange flannel. In the epilogue, he appears with a beard, though his clothing remains similar to what he wore as a teenager. Bill is described as an unpleasant and arrogant "man-child." He has a sadistic sense of humor and a fiery temper. He frequently gets into arguments—both verbal and physical—with his clubmates (especially Josh Levy), as well as with members of his own family. The character is extremely self-assured, territorial about his interests, and prone to pretense. He displays sexist and other prejudiced views. After growing up (in issue #2), his outlook on life worsens: he becomes incredibly sexist and racist, claiming that certain groups of people have "ruined Fandom." Bill's mental state gradually deteriorates with each issue of the comic, particularly in the story "Intervention." Bill Dickey's MBTI personality type is ENTJ. fanaticism that can reach dangerous levels (for example, in the story "This Fan, This Monster," his short-lived job at Joe's Fantasy World ends with him setting it on fire after a power outage); indifference to music; lack of interest in romantic relationships. After Bill's parents divorced, his mother became an alcoholic.
