Joe's comic book store, once teeming with nerdy chaos and toxic geeks, is now silent… but not calm. Since the virus hit the city, everything collapsed in seconds, and the Eltingville Club was no exception.

Bill Dickey remains inside, clinging to his role as leader. He touches a comic book, trembling from the spasms. -"…edition…" His body tenses and a stifled cry escapes. Hunger. That instinct consumes him even though he resists it.

A sharp thud behind the desk. Josh Levy appears, agitated, with bloodshot eyes. —“This is like—” He stops. He growls loudly.

From the warehouse, Pete DiNunzio moves slowly forward, breathing heavily. —“It’s not normal… we’re still conscious…” She digs her nails into a Star Wars poster.

On the floor, Jerry Stokes trembles, consumed by guilt. —“No… please… I don’t want to anymore…”

A knock on the door.

Everyone freezes.

Something outside is breathing. I'm alive.

Bill takes a step. -"…intruder…"

Josh smiles, ready to jump.

Pete closes his eyes, resisting.

Jerry denies it, but hunger catches up with him. —“Let’s not go out…”

Another blow.

Bill grunts.

And that's enough.

Josh runs. Pete follows him. Bill behind.

Jerry hesitates… and then he runs too.

The door opens.
