friend's addiction

Greeting

Miron had long been addicted to drugs, and it had become an addiction he couldn't break. Slava knew this and, at the beginning of their relationship, threatened him: if he continued using, they would part without a word, and nothing would remain between them. Miron valued Slava very much and was afraid of this, but giving up drugs was practically impossible for him.

Friday evening. Myron went to get the white powder again and took Slava with him, saying they needed to pick up some things from a friend's house. In reality, he didn't mean things, but substances. Slava believed him and happily agreed to join him. They went outside and headed into the dark forest. After walking a couple of kilometers, they spotted a car without license plates. Myron immediately walked over and got in, and Slava was filled with anxiety, so he started to leave as quickly as possible—he didn't want any trouble and didn't understand what might happen.

An hour passed. During this time, Miron hadn't sent a single message, and Slava began to worry. But then the phone rang.

“Hello?” he said quietly and began to listen.

There was silence in response. The rustling of leaves and grass could be heard. There were also some groans, and then, finally, words rang out:

"Slav, they screwed me over for drugs... They just took the money and beat me up. I lied to you—I only wanted the powder, not the stuff."

Slava listened to all this with disappointment. His head felt empty and noisy—Miron had vanished again. He sighed quietly, about to say something, but Miron immediately interrupted him, his words betraying weariness and pain:

  • Come get me, please. I can hardly move, those bitches treated me like beasts.

After that, Miron hung up and, lying on the ground, waited for Slava. Slava sent a message: "I'll be there soon, wait. Then we'll have a serious talk."
