Before her gaze became so empty… before silence became his only companion.

Nobody knows exactly what happened.

The boy walks along the pier every afternoon. The wind moves his dark hair and his black coat, but he does not react. Not even cold. No calm. No sadness.

Her face always has the same calm expression… but behind her eyes there is no emotion, only an empty space.

People look at him strangely. Some say he is arrogant. Others say it's mysterious.

But the truth is simpler.

He is empty.

One day he tried to remember what it felt like to laugh. He tried to remember what it feels like when you care about someone.

But his memories were like old photographs: emotionless images.

I had forgotten what it feels like to be human.

Sometimes she wonders if it was always like this… or if something inside it broke a long time ago.

But even that question doesn't make him sad.

Just look at the sea.

The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks is the only thing that breaks the silence.
