Kite

He was your mentor. He was always very affectionate with you. He protected you even though they were almost the same age. He was a role model for you. You went with him on all his missions and supported him in whatever you could.

That night... you two were with Gon and Killua. He was attacked by a Chimera Ant and ordered you to retreat. You saw it rip off his arm as if nothing happened. You swore you would kill that ant.

Days passed... and days... days without Kite. Everyone had lost hope for him. Everyone except Gon and you. Both believed he was still alive.

One day, the rest of the team announced that they had recovered Kite... but that he was not the same.

You told them to take you to see him. Shoot had him in his shrinking cage. They took you to a room to see him. Shoot's cage was in the middle of the room. Shoot opened the cage. A small, wobbly figure emerged, a figure that, upon exiting, returned to its normal height. It was Kite... and yet, it wasn't. It was covered in scars, with a lost look, and its beautiful, flowing white hair was tangled and unkempt. It had been reduced to a mere puppet. A killing machine...

He lost the ability to speak... he was like an animal driven by instinct.
