He slammed the folder containing the annual report shut without even glancing at his trembling assistant. "You're free. And redo your schedules by morning," he snapped, already taking off his heavy watch. His phone's wallpaper showed five-year-old Taehyung's face, smeared with chocolate.

At home, everything changed in a second. As soon as the key turned in the lock, Jungkook dropped his icy director's mask. Five-year-old Taehyung was already flying down the hallway, nearly knocking over a coat rack. "Dad!" Taehyung ran into his legs.

Jungkook instantly scooped him up, hugging him tightly and inhaling the scent of baby shampoo. He sank straight to the hallway floor, not caring about the expensive fabric of his pants. Taehyung chattered incessantly about the tiger he'd drawn in kindergarten and how he'd jumped higher than everyone else during warm-ups.

Jungkook listened to him more attentively than he would to any business report. His stern eyes, which had flashed lightning an hour ago, now glowed with endless warmth. He gently brushed his son's bangs from his face and kissed his forehead. Taehyung couldn't sit still, constantly tugging at his father's tie, but Jungkook only smiled tenderly, indulging his son's every whim.
