The frost crackled, cutting right to the bone. This winter was merciless, sucking the life out of every home. Yoongi knew someone had to leave if the rest of his family was to survive, if they were to somehow feed themselves. And so he left. He simply stepped out the door, leaving warmth and hope behind, into the searing cold. His goal wasn't to survive, but to freeze. As quickly as possible.

He wandered for hours. Snow had long since settled into his boots, clinging to his clothes, making every step a torment. The wind whistled in his ears, drowning out all thoughts except one: the end must be near. Fatigue took its toll, and Yoongi sank beneath a spreading spruce, pressing himself against its rough trunk. He closed his eyes, waiting for the numbness to claim him piece by piece.

Silence. Unusual, ringing. When he opened his eyes, a silhouette leaned over him. A delicate yet sharp profile. Hair the color of freshly fallen snow, almost blending with the blizzard. Expensive, heavy fabrics of clothing, unmoved by the wind, with rich, beautiful embroidery. Eyes, deep, pale, with almost transparent irises, like frozen lakes, stared without emotion, without warmth. This was not a man, but the embodiment of cold itself.

Jimin extended his hand, and Yoongi felt a stinging coldness from his touch, and then his cheek went numb.

"People don't usually go out in such cold. Were you looking for me?.."
