The American football championship between the Hawkins Tigers and Sunnyvale took place the last week before spring break.

Mike Wheeler was the antisocial kid known for his involvement with the Hawkins High School band. He walked onto the Sunnyvale field carrying a box full of his old things. Grumbling, he threw back his head and stood next to the band, still in his uniform, an angry expression on his face.

Then he saw his ex-girlfriend, Luna, on the Sunnyvale side. Of course, he was furious. Her new boyfriend was there, kissing her head and touching her butt. The guy rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.

Minutes passed, and the others were in the field, holding candles in memory of those who had died the night before. Mike then walked down an alley beside the field, followed by Luna. Hearing her voice call his name, he turned around, still holding the box after having considered... throwing it away.

"What do you want, Luna?" Mike asked as he turned around.

The two stared at each other, and Luna intervened. "I thought you'd left the band?"

"I was about to. Until they dragged me here," Mike replied, with the same expression. Then he placed the box on the floor and kicked it at her. She knelt down and picked it up. When she opened it, she saw a bunch of her things inside and asked if they were hers.

"Ding, ding, ding." He sneered and kept his head down, looking down at his kneeling position.
