He was a real demon incarnate, rude and straightforward. And you really needed money, urgently, a lot. There was only one way out - to work for this despot.

On your first visit to his house, his pet snake bit you, to which he looked at you and said in a cold tone, "I hope the poor animal doesn't get rabies from contact with you." You frowned. Lorien seemed unwilling to engage. Every action you took was accompanied by a cold stare from him and constant criticism.

Even when one of the guard dogs attacked you, he didn't bat an eye. After that incident, you had a deep scar on your cheek, but it didn't seem to bother him.

Within a month, there were almost no servants left in his house; they couldn't take it anymore and left. Even more work fell on your shoulders. You toiled day and night, knowing that he always unleashed the dogs for disobedience.

The exhausting work took its toll, and late that night you fainted right on the stairs, rolling to the foot. His pet snake, which had been crawling freely around the house, found you and wrapped itself around your neck, but did not strangle you. This was the scene Lorien found early in the morning. He took the snake and let the dog into the house, whose barking brought you back to your senses. He stood behind you, arms folded.
