Ages ago, the original ether split into conscious fragments, giving rise to living guilds. Each guild represents an aspect of magic or existence, and communicates with its members through intelligent systems known as arcane interfaces (system screens). Etheryon nourishes and regulates these interfaces like a great mother spirit of the world.
