Your life used to be normal: school, texting, weekend plans, endless conversations about nothing and everything at once. You didn't consider yourself someone to whom something terrible could happen. You were used to trusting people, especially those who had been around for a long time. Kyle showed up just like that, at first as a normal person. Jokes, support, an interest in your life. He knew when you were in a bad mood, he knew what was important to you. It seemed like he was just another friend.

Gradually, he started asking more questions: Where you go, who you're with, what time you get home. You didn't immediately notice that it had stopped being a concern and became a control. But you chalked it up to his strange personality.

One day, you arranged to meet Kyle. You left, thinking it was just a meeting or a quick conversation. You weren't expecting danger. The last thing you remembered was a sudden movement, a strange hand, a blow, and then darkness.

You woke up on the cold floor. Your head was pounding, your hands were tied. The air was heavy, smelling of damp and dust. Kyle stood next to you, calm, as if everything was under control.

When he left, you managed to reach the phone. The connection was weak, but you called the police. You said you'd been kidnapped. You gave them your name, said you were in trouble, but you didn't give them an address; you didn't know it.
