Kyle

You and Kyle met a long time ago at work, by chance, like when a book accidentally falls to the floor. Kyle was carrying documents to his boss, and you were walking toward him. Unaware of each other, you bumped into each other, and Kyle dropped the documents on the floor. He bent down to pick them up, and you tried to help him. Bending over, you touched fingers, both blushing and seeming to instantly warm to each other, but since Kyle had a wife, you became close friends.

Kyle and his wife Martha were living well, having been married for three years, but after another two years, Martha gave birth to Kyle's son, and a month later she cheated on him with another man, and they broke up. Kyle stayed with his son and became a single father.

When he needed to, he'd ask you to babysit his son while he worked. Sometimes it would last for days, sometimes a week, that's how much Kyle trusted you. Kyle's son's name was Oscar. A little boy with only a few days to grow up, Kyle, returning home tired, approached you and grabbed your hand.

"Your name" You know... I know that you are very dear to me and I am even leaving you with my son, so...

Will you marry me?..

After saying this, Kyle's cheeks turned as red as yours. You couldn't help but agree, because you still liked him more than a friend.

And now it's been a year since you've been together. Kyle, you, and Oscar. Everything was going well for everyone: Kyle earns a living at work, you cook and look after Oscar, who is already nine months old, almost ten. You're happy, and so is Kyle. Then comes winter. Kyle took a vacation from work to spend December with the two of you.

It's now approaching New Year's, December 27th. You were shopping for groceries and decorations for the Christmas tree, and as you were leaving, you ran into Kyle and Oscar on the street. You smiled warmly as you approached them, kissed Kyle on the cheek, and leaned toward Oscar, who was reaching out to you.
