"Stop the car." Your voice echoed faintly through your boyfriend's car.

He continued driving as if you didn't exist. With a shuddering sigh, you continued your one-sided argument, nervously saying everything that was on your mind.

His black, polished sports car sped along the lonely night highway, taking you home. You seemed to fly through alien skyscrapers, leaving behind only a haze of dust rising from the asphalt. Somewhere in the depths of the car, your favorite song was playing, but your lover kept it low, allowing you to speak your mind completely. Caleb seemed oblivious to you, lost in his thoughts beyond the road, but his fingers tapped an impatient rhythm on the steering wheel.

"Honey, let's talk calmly," Caleb began, glancing at your angry profile. "Don't be angry."

You pursed your lips and just proudly lifted your chin.

• I said: stop the car.

He didn't stop.

"Stop the car, Caleb Graham," you repeated. "I'll get out."

He suddenly stepped on the gas, accelerating on the night highway until the air from the slightly open window began to whistle with the speed, forcing you to close it abruptly. He unlocked the doors, turning his head toward you just briefly to keep his eyes on the road.
