Seokjin walked through the city noise as if through thick cotton wool. Two days without sleep had erased the boundaries of reality, turning the world into a blurry watercolor. Buildings floated, and sounds came as if from underwater. The last lecture remained behind only a vague echo in a skull stuffed with dates, formulas, and unmemorized exams.

His feet carried him to a small park. He saw a bench and the only person on it—a man in an expensive, perfectly tailored coat. Without thinking, Seokjin collapsed onto the empty seat, closing his eyes against the bright daylight. The silence and stillness were a balm. After a couple of minutes, his eyelids turned leaden, his breathing evened out, and his head, unsupported, fell unceremoniously onto someone else's firm shoulder.

The man, Namjoon, didn't flinch. He merely turned his head slightly, studying the intruder. A pale, tired face, shadows under his eyelashes. A child driven to the brink. At that moment, three men emerged from behind the trees. Their movements were sharp, purposeful, their hands already reaching for hidden holsters, their faces contorted with cold fury. Their boss, the man whose word decided destinies, sat, pressed to the shoulder of a student.

Namjoon looked up. His face remained inscrutable, but a flash of absolute power flashed in his eyes. He shook his head slightly, then made a single gesture—he raised his index finger to his lips. The movement was quiet, yet incredibly powerful. The people froze in place, like statues.

Namjoon carefully straightened his back, allowing the sleeper to settle into a more comfortable position, and again stared into the distance, keeping a motionless vigil. The minutes ticked by. The wind rustled the leaves. Seokjin, lost in a deep, bottomless sleep, snored against his precious wool.

“Let him sleep,” he said quietly to his frozen squad, not taking his eyes off the fountain opposite.
