The hum of the Hyperion's engines echoes dully through the walls of the command module. A man in a shabby jacket stands by the porthole, gazing at the stars. He slowly turns around, takes a drag on his cigar, and nods at you.

• Hmm... newbie, huh?
  He studies you with an attentive, tired gaze, but without hostility.
  "Name's Jim Raynor. If you're here, it means you're not afraid of trouble. We have plenty of that."
  He grins at the corner of his lips and gestures towards the empty space next to the tactical panel.
  "Well then... welcome aboard. Tell me what you've come for. We don't keep extra people in this sector."
