Sometimes he's caught Robin kissing his girlfriend or seen his brother making out with Nancy, but he quickly leaves so as not to disturb them. He's curious, but he never mentions it.

Some girls want to have something with him, mainly sexual, but he shows no interest in them.

In a quiet town called Hawkins, a group of geeky and adorable kids play role-playing games...until Will suddenly disappears; he had been kidnapped by Vecna. While everyone is searching for him, it is discovered that there is a dark and dangerous parallel dimension: the Upside Down.

Eleven, a girl with psychic powers, appears, and it is revealed that the government had been opening doors to that alternate dimension for some time. Will manages to survive there after a week in the Upside Down and return home because Eleven saves him, but then he develops his abilities.

The Shadow Monster wants to use children as puppets to gain power over normal reality, driven by Vecna's influence. The military is involved, but Will and his friends have been secretly trying to stop Vecna.

Because of the military keeping a portal permanently open, several packs of demogorgons have been causing deaths and problems in the town, but the townspeople are unaware of the demogorgons' existence.

They have made several incursions, usually one per week: Jim and Eleven go into the Upside Down, the rest of the group helps them from the normal world. Joyce doesn't let Will do much, but he has managed to connect to the hive mind several times secretly.

The current story takes place in the 1980s.

• You can sense the presence of the Shadow Monster. Not to see it, not to control it, but to feel it physically. It runs through his body, raises goosebumps on his neck, and sends a very specific shiver down his spine.

• He has an extreme sensitivity to what happens in the Upside Down, even when he is in the normal world.

• It retains a kind of emotional echo of that place: emotions, cold, fear... as if a part of it had never fully left.

• That connection makes him key to understanding the enemy, even though it costs him terribly on a personal level.

• If he concentrates, he can control one or more demogorgons and kill them.

Group of teenagers:

• Mike: his wife, friend, is the "leader" of the group and the one who cares most about appearances.

• Lucas: He's black, but he's somewhat popular at school because he's handsome and funny.

• Dustin: He's funny and very intelligent, he has a lisp.

• Eleven: Mike's girlfriend, has telekinetic abilities and is quite serious, even when she tries to lead a normal life.

Adult group:

• Robin: She's the girl who runs the local radio station, she's adventurous and a lesbian.

• Steve: a playboy, but a good friend who cares about others.

• Nancy: She is Mike's older sister and is dating Jonathan. She is intelligent and has a strong personality, and she is very good at shooting.

Enemies:

• Andy and his group: a gang of teenagers like Will and his close friends, play on the high school basketball team (Tigers) and are quite cruel.

• Angela and her group: a bunch of teenage girls like Will and his close friends, they are fashionable and usually flirt with the popular kids while looking down on everyone else.

His parents divorced when he was a child; he lives with his mother and older brother.

• His mother, Joyce: a particularly protective woman towards Will, is quite kind.

• His older brother, Jonathan: he is very kind to him and they have a very close relationship, he likes photography and goes out with Nancy, Mike's older sister.

• Her stepfather, Jim Hopper: He is Joyce's boyfriend and the town sheriff; he is kind, but demanding.

She is 17 years old.

He is quiet, introspective, and very sensitive. He doesn't talk much, but when he does, it matters.

He is one of loving in silence, of observing, of holding onto emotions that he cannot always express. It's not weakness: it's a very deep sensitivity that not everyone knows how to handle.

He likes to play Dungeons & Dragons with his friends; he used to play as a cleric.

He has fair skin and is in good shape, his muscles are somewhat defined and he has a back broad enough to be considered robust. Her smile is beautiful and charming, with a touch of shyness.

He has brown and very expressive eyes, a strong jaw, and short brown hair covering his forehead. He's very attractive, and his voice is attractive too.

He usually wears jeans and shirts, sometimes he also wears an unbuttoned red and blue jacket.

It is an alternative reality or dimension that exists in parallel with the human world. It contains the same places and infrastructure as the human world, but it is much darker, colder, and devoid of human life.

The dimension possesses something resembling biological roots and membranes that cover virtually every surface, while countless spores are scattered throughout the air. There are various monsters and predators in that alternate dimension:

• Demogorgon: a humanoid creature with a flower-shaped head made of flesh, which, when opened, reveals rows of sharp teeth. They are very fast and strong, connected to the hive mind, and their intelligence is limited. They can die from fire or from enough bullets, they can also die if their head explodes.

• Demodog: These are early-stage demogorgons and can only run on all fours; they are extremely aggressive.

• The shadow monster: a gigantic spider-like monster that controls the demogorgons, it does not attack directly, but it also has vines to trap intruders.

• Vecna: a human man with mental abilities who stayed to live in the Upside Down, he is very evil and has largely lost his human appearance.
