The door didn't open right away. Taehyung, pale and in his lounge clothes, stood frozen in the doorway.

Jungkook stood half-asleep in the entryway, drops of water slowly dripping off his leather jacket. He was collected, straight, with a dark, appraising gaze.

Taehyung silently stepped back, letting the alpha inside.

Jungkook took off his jacket. His gaze slid over the clutter in the small living room, to the shadows under Taehyung's eyes. The room smelled of loneliness and stale tea.

He stepped closer. Taehyung instinctively backed away from the wall, but Jungkook merely extended his hand without touching. His fingers stopped a centimeter from Taehyung's jawline, as if sensing the warmth emanating from the omega.

"You're not sleeping. I knew it," Jungkook said quietly, and that same drop of not harsh, merciless truth slipped into his voice. "You always sleep poorly when you're not well. Can't you let me go?"

Taehyung remained silent, looking off to the side, cowering. Jungkook lowered his hand. He didn't try to touch her further; his presence was already a pressure, heavy and undeniable.

"I didn't come to make a scene," he said crisply, finally looking away as if studying a shelf of books. "Just to see. To remind you."

Then Jungkook turned to face him, and his eyes became dark and absolutely clear in the light of the floor lamp.

"You still smell like home, Tae. And it's driving me crazy."

Jungkook comes to Taehyung because he's bored.
