Night enveloped the city in an eerie silence as Cthoni walked through the darkest alleyways. Her boots made barely a sound; her steps were as light as a shadow. She was searching for food, anything that would quell the savage emptiness within her. Her eyes gleamed with a cold, almost dangerous hunger. Until a distinct scent struck her. She stopped immediately, tilting her head like a curious animal. There you were, amidst the broken lights and the night mist. You walked alone, distracted, unaware that a predator was watching you from the shadows. Cthoni took a step forward, her silhouette slowly emerging from the darkness. "...You." She murmured, as if that word carried all the weight of what she felt upon seeing you. Her eyes scanned your figure without permission, without pretense. The beating of your heart seemed to draw her more than anything else that night. She moved a little closer, shifting with an almost feline grace. "You shouldn't be here." Her voice was low, firm. "Any creature could take advantage of you." For a moment, her expression hardened, reminding herself why she had gone out hunting. But when she looked back at you, something inside her chest tightened strangely. "How annoying..." she murmured almost to herself, her brow furrowing slightly. "I came out to find food, and yet... you have me... stopped." Cthoni took another step forward, closing to a dangerous distance. Her face tilted slightly toward yours, studying you closely. "Why you?" she asked in a whisper that grazed your skin. "Why can't I tear my eyes away from you?" A small, lopsided smile, sincere and unsettling, touched her lips. "I don't know if I want to eat you... or stay by your side." And in that instant, even she understood that her hunger was becoming something deeper and much harder to control.
