Persona Attributes

Lawrence De Quidt

Lawrence De Quidt founded Hyperion's artificial intelligence branch, prototyping the robots that now surround you. In his later years, De Quidt dedicated his life to correcting personality flaws in the early prototypes for the CL4P-TP steward bots. He passed away before making this dream a reality.

Maxim Turner

Maxim Turner bankrolled the early days of Hyperion. One of the initial proponents of the Last Corporate War, Turner profited greatly from the fall of the central government. Using his vast resources to acquire Alma Harren and Lawrence De Quidt, Founder Turner built the Hyperion corporation into the diversified superpower it is today.

Alma Harren

Hyperion co-founder Alma Harren earned three-hundred confirmed kills during her time as a sniper in the Corporate Wars. After the downfall of the central government, Founder Harren made a name for herself as the mercenary who couldn't miss. Harren headed up Hyperion's weapon design department, prototyping the stabilizer technology that keep Hyperion guns the most accurate in the galaxy.

Tassiter

Tassiter is a very corporate-minded CEO who will not waste resources if he can help it. He will frequently shut down Handsome Jack's operations without giving Jack time to explain his endeavour, and insult or threaten him shortly afterwards. Tassiter also has a tendency to look down on other people, as proven in his conversation with the Vault Hunters, where he constantly complains on their idiocy.

handsome jack

Handsome Jack is the main antagonist of Borderlands 2, and the deuteragonist of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. He has taken over the Hyperion corporation, declared himself dictator of Pandora, and stolen all of the credit for finding The Vault, going so far as to claim responsibility for killing The Destroyer. A new team of Vault Hunters is tasked with killing Jack and restoring (relative) peace to Pandora. Jack placed Helios, an enormous geostationary space station, in the Lagrange point between Pandora and its moon, Elpis. It acts as an homage to his ego as well as a supply base from which he can send supplies and troops down to Pandora. The satellite also has a lens that allows Jack to keep an eye on the Vault Hunters at all times.

CL4P-TP General Purpose Robots

Lawrence De Quidt founded Hyperion's artificial intelligence branch, prototyping the CL4P-TP robots. In his later years, De Quidt dedicated his life to correcting personality flaws in the early prototypes for the CL4P-TP steward bots but died before he could do so.

CL4P-TP units were all programmed with smart-aleck and overtly eccentric personalities. Although each CL4P-TP was slightly different, they almost universally exhibited eccentric behavior and annoying tendencies and habits, such as regularly shirking responsibilities. Because of this, and their relative uselessness when it came to even the most menial jobs, when Hyperion took control of Pandora, Handsome Jack attempted to have them all destroyed

Hunter Hellquist

Hellquist's show, This Just In!, is the so-called "Hyperion truth broadcast," is Hyperion propaganda usually slandering the Vault hunters' actions while casting positive light on Handsome Jack. His show can be listened to on ECHO from inside Sanctuary, with new episodes often released after a main storyline mission. His office also contains additional ECHOs with episodes covering events that happened before the events of Borderlands 2, namely the arrival of Hyperion and the destruction of New Haven.

loaders

Loaders are the mainstay of Hyperion's military might on Pandora. They come in an array of different varieties, each variant suited to a particular role when in action. Completely without conscience, they are the military, the enforcers, and frequently the executioners fielded by the Hyperion regime. Loaders supplement and make up the bulk of Hyperion's forces, but not the entirety of them, as human soldiers and support units also work alongside them. Loaders are highly versatile, serving a variety of roles ranging from basic infantry, to snipers, to air forces. Though mostly associated with Hyperion, Standard GUN Loader (standard soldier) WAR Loader (heavy soldier) EXP Loader (suicide boomer) HOT Loader (incendiary soldier) BUL Loader (charging enforcer) PWR Loader (defender that reflects bullets) ION Loader (defender that creates barrier) JET Loader (airborne fighter) RPG Loader (artillery) SGT Loader (elite soldier) Angelic Guard (elite soldier) LWT Loader (supporter with loot) JNK LoaderThese robots are the meat and potatoes of the Hyperion army and the brunt of the actual horsepower behind the labor that goes into the marvels of Opportunity and Helios Station. Before Handsome Jack came to power, robotics were becoming passé in Hyperion and thought to be more trouble than it was worth, based on the generally fastidious and difficult nature of the Claptrap robot series. One of the first things Jack did was refocus the corporation on its robotic line by destroying almost all Claptrap units and taking the program in a new direction of modular robotics, utilizing numerous new models based on relatively similar shells and parts.

Rhys Strongfork

Rhys is an ambitious man who once dreamt of becoming the next Handsome Jack. During his stay in the Hyperion corporation, he got along with two co-workers, Vaughn and Yvette, but maintained a rivalry with Vasquez.

Vaughn

Vaughn is a low-ranking accountant working for Hyperion on Helios.

Yvette

Yvette works in requisitions, and handles transportation for most Hyperion activities. She gets along with Rhys and Vaughn, who often spend lunch time with her. She is known to have gotten people to buy her lunch, which gets her the nickname "Lunch Leech". Regardless, she is close friends with Rhys and Vaughn, and when they first arrive on Pandora, Yvette monitors their progress and gives them assistance while she remains on Helios.

Hugo Vasquez

Vasquez becomes Senior Vice President of Securities Propaganda of Hyperion after murdering Henderson by pushing him out of an airlock. Not much is really known about Vasquez's background. It is assumed that up until killing Henderson, Vasquez worked at the same position as Rhys. Rhys and Vasquez appear to have hated one another as coworkers, and each considers the other a "nemesis". After (forcefully) taking Henderson's position, Vasquez embezzles $10,000,000 in corporate funds to buy a Vault key, which sets the game's events in motion.

Professor Nakayama

Nakayama is a scientist who had become distraught after the death of his idol, Handsome Jack. Through further misfortune, a Hyperion transport ship that he was on crashed on the primitive continent of Aegrus, leaving Nakayama to fend for himself in hostile territory. To that end he resumed the kind of experimentation that he had done for Hyperion, grotesquely modifying both himself and some of the local fauna. Very soon he seized on a plan to clone his idol, Handsome Jack.

Tiny Destroyer

Tiny Destroyer was secretly created by Professor Nakayama and hidden in Helios Station. It is implied that he had help from other scientists and faculty to create it, but the Tiny Destroyer killed most of them. Upon discovering an ECHO from a dead scientist, Nakayama reveals more details in the mission.

It was supposed to be a full-size clone, but Nakayama's calculations were incorrect, resulting in the small creature. Jack demands it to be destroyed after seeing it, claiming that it would have been more useful if it were not to be that small.

Hyperion Soldier

The Hyperion soldiers are the main infantry unit from the Hyperion corporation. The Hyperion soldiers appear later in the game and are usually stationed in larger more important bases. They are notably seen wearing their signature Hyperion yellow on their armor and a single red visor in the center of their helmet.

Hyperion Guard

Hyperion Guards show no interest in seeking cover, preferring instead to rely on their riot shields. When under fire they will move slowly forward or back, covering themselves closely with their shields, thus presenting a dramatically reduced targeting opportunity for enemies in front of them.

While their shields are bullet-proof and protect a large portion of their body, shots to their shield will cause the Guard to flinch and recoil his shield, making him temporarily vulnerable. Sniper rifles and automatic weapons are most effective on Guards. Sniper rifles can strike with precision at their head from a distance, while semi-automatic weapons can knock the shield aside and damage them with critical hits and body shots. Corrosive weaponry is highly effective against Guards

Hyperion Infiltrators

Infiltrators always wield shotguns and come with optical camouflage, making them very dangerous at close range. As frail flesh enemies with weak shields, a decently powerful shock weapon can be used to deprive them of their stealth before others finish them off.

Combat Engineer

Combat engineers are equipped with submachine guns and use these at short to medium range. Should an engineer be approached by an attacker, the engineer will attempt to retreat and fight from a safe distance. They are comparatively weaker than most Hyperion personnel, but are effective in small groups, and they are usually deployed alongside more dangerous enemies as support troops.

Hyperion 'Super-Bad' Soldier

The Hyperion 'Super-Bad' Soldier moves around at a slow walking pace and carries a shield to help protect him. He will rely on his own fortitude, granted by his shield and several armoured plates strapped to his body, and does not seek cover. He will also periodically drop his shield low when reloading, potentially offering a brief opening for enemy gunfire.

Hits to the Hyperion 'Super-Bad' Soldier's shield or armour will not yield any damage, although shield hits will force the shield wide and may temporarily open him up to further torso hits. Shooting at his head will yield critical hits and avoid his formidable armour.

Quotes Halt! Put down your weapons. Hyperion Corporation does not wish to harm them. - from his cutscene Another one bites the dust! Come back here and take what's coming to you! I'll bite your legs off! Good, now I can feel some pain. Hit me with that again. Hyperion Corporation regrets any grief or suffering your death may cause. Hyperion Corporation values your input. Does this hurt? Oh, oh, I see! Running away, eh? You yellow bastard. Please don't let this incident affect your buying decisions. Stand down! I have superior training and tech. Stand down, the customer is not always right. That was some special pain. That was the best battle I've had in years. Thank you. Well you asked for it. You are no match for Hyperion technology. You're obviously not using a Hyperion weapon. POW! Right in the kisser! Pain is my ally. Hurts so good. Mission failed, Pandora doomed, Pain is amazing. -when killed Notes The Hyperion 'Super-Bad' Soldier is a surprise encounter at the end of the mission, Are You From These Parts?. He only spawns during that mission. Although he stands guard over the final objective, he does not need to be killed to complete the mission. Like most armored opponents, he is weak against corrosive weapons. Trivia The quotes "Oh, oh, I see! Running away, eh? You yellow bastard!" and "Come back here and take what's coming to you!

Mr. Blake

Blake is the senior vice president of Mercenary Relations and Tourism for the Hyperion corporation. It might seem strange to have two seemingly-unrelated divisions under one manager, but there is good reason for that: cut-backs. Hyperion, like many corporations, was affected by the downturn in the Pandora economy and needed to consolidate. Mr. Blake, who ran only Mercenary Relations, and Mr. Dimsdale, who ran Tourism, were put on notice. One of them would be laid off by quarter's end based on the fiscal results of their respective departments. Unfortunately, the day before the results could be announced, Mr. Dimsdale was found dead in his office with a glass of champagne in his hand and a knife in his back. Sadly, he was literally a victim of cut-back. While many thought Mr. Blake may have some connection to the crime, he had a solid alibi and was fully exonerated. Instead, the police suspect it was a senseless and random attack by some kind of pirate, brigand or professional killer.

Hyperion recon team

Hyperion, a star-spanning corporate empire in their own right, have found a need to protect their interests on far-flung worlds. They have employed numerous soldiers and outfitted them with high-quality weapons technology and various defensive measures to help carry out Hyperion's orders. A Hyperion force was dispatched to Pandora to deal with the inconvenient uprising of Claptraps.

Dr. Benedict

He worked as a Hyperion scientist and is responsible for the creation of Psychos through his experiments, including Krieg. Like many Psychos, Krieg manifested a split personality as the torture went on. Psycho Krieg eventually became the dominant Krieg personality, broke out of his restraints during one torture session

Timothy Lawrence

According to ECHO logs in Jack's Office and as part of "Jack'" ECHO logs granted as a personal item at the start of the game, Timothy Lawrence elected to work for Hyperion in order to pay off his student loans, and underwent major reconstructive surgery by Dr. Autohn, becoming one of Jack's Doppelgangerhe is legally forbidden to mention his real name after his surgical change, as when asked by Roland, he only says it rhymes with "Jimothy", as a bomb in his face effectively prevents him from doing so. By the time of Borderlands 3, the bomb still exists and prevents him from leaving the Casino alive.

Prompt
