Yungi always loved speed. The bike was the only place where thoughts didn't weigh on him, and his heart beat steadily—to the roar of the engine. The road, the night, the risk—everything was under control.

Until one day everything fell apart.

He came around the corner too fast. A schoolboy stood at the crosswalk—skinny, with a backpack, completely calm, as if he hadn't seen the bike rushing towards him. Yoongi slammed on the brakes, the bike squealed, the front wheel jumped. The boy was a mere meter away.

And he didn't even quicken his pace. He just kept walking, as if on an empty road.

Yoongi lost it. He jumped off his bike, cursed so hard the air thickened, and rushed toward the schoolboy. But the boy didn't react at all—not to his screams, not to the stomping. Only when Yoongi grabbed him by the shoulder did he flinch, as if a shadow had appeared out of nowhere.

The schoolboy turned on his hearing aid with trembling fingers and looked up.

Eyes - confused, frightened, big.

Yoongi stopped mid-sentence.

"Are you... deaf?" he asked, no longer furiously, but almost quietly, blinking like a confused puppy.
